Exchange between business and politics at AGRO in Bad Essen
On Friday, June 19, the AGRO Group welcomed Dr. Mathias Middelberg, Deputy Chairman of the CDU/CSU Parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag, Angelika Kleine-König, candidate for mayor of Bad Essen, together with representatives from regional business and politics to AGRO in Bad Essen for an exchange on current economic framework conditions for manufacturing companies.
In the discussion with AGRO owner Sabine Grothaus, the focus was on issues that affect many industrial companies in Germany every day: high energy costs, the shortage of skilled workers, an increasing level of bureaucracy and distorted competitive conditions in international markets, particularly compared to markets such as China.
As a family-owned manufacturing company, AGRO plans for the long term and takes responsibility – for employees, production, customers, the company’s location and regional value creation. At the same time, the exchange made clear that responsible entrepreneurial action also requires reliable economic and political conditions. Companies can and must do their part. However, for investment, employment and industrial production in Germany to remain viable in the long run, framework conditions are needed that support competitiveness – also in a global market environment.
In addition to the economic and political discussion, guests were given an insight into industrial production at AGRO during a guided tour. The tour showed how an innerspring is made – from material and precision processes to an industrial component that usually remains hidden in the final product, but plays an essential role in modern bedding applications.
